The screen is displayed through the Connect to Server screen sharing session when I go to the physical machine and uncheck/check "Screen Sharing". However when I initiate a screen sharing session using Connect to Server (Cmd + K in Finder) and enter an administrator password, the screen sharing connects but the remote session only sees a black screen.

TightVNC support, JPEG compression (great for low bandwidth connections) and the ability to scale the image down (great for viewing large screens on a laptop). I'd go for Chicken of the VNC as well, but it's not that great as it lacks some of the more advanced features of VNC clients on other OSs, i.e. Sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ssh.plist The thread starter wanted a VNC viewer, not a server, although OSXvnc is a great server. # Enable remote login for remote management Sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ Sudo defaults write /var/db/launchd.db//ist -dict Disabled -bool false Our VNC-compliant Server for macOS supports a variety of different encoders, including Tight encoder the fastest and well-known encoder for VNC protocol. sh script on the new machine: # Enable screensharing for remote management I'm looking for a way to programatically enable Screen Sharing and Remote Login on macOS to help with automated provisioning of new machines.
